EDI X6 Source

Hi RR team,

What is the source of X6 EDI codes and when/what intervals are they triggered in RR? It seems an X6 is only sent when a task is pushed into “in progress” - typically an X6 would be used to determine current truck location, however in this case the location being sent is the task location instead of actual truck location.

Additionally - the In-progress task status is not something that is automatically triggered without an automation - so i am also a little confused about when the system would expect to send X6 codes under normal conditions and what the purpose of these codes would be if not to determine an in-transit truck location?

Can we map the X6 trigger to a different source object? Such as current location/last known location and remove the in-progress task status as the trigger? Ideally, the trigger for regular X6 codes would be the in-transit order status so that X6 pings occur at regular intervals after the pick up is complete.

Typically customers who require EDI 214 status updates require X6 codes for current truck location while traveling in-between tasks, not to indicate that a specific task in a sequence is in progress.

Thank you for your insight.
