Upper bounds for rate-limiting API calls

There is a similar question from over a year ago RE: rate limits for the RoseRocket API.

While I understand there may not be a firm answer that can be shared, and you don't want to reveal the limits of underlying systems, I would still like a general upper bound to help inform our integration with RoseRocket.

Generally, our API call rate and volume when connecting to other systems is regularly not very high, but I would like to determine - in a worst case (e.g., a long-running data retrieve and compare) - if it is possible and then avoid even accidentally hitting an unspoken ceiling.
